FETF Grants available on a wide range of OPICO machines
The final round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) opens on Tuesday 17 March 2026 and closes at midday on 28 April 2026, marking the last opportunity for farmers to gain funding from this competitive grant scheme. There is £20 million allocated to the productivity theme and individual grants range from £1,000 to £25,000. Funding will be awarded to the highest‑scoring applicants first until the pot is exhausted, meaning not all eligible applicants will receive support.
A wide range of OPICO products are eligible this year, making early preparation essential ahead of the opening date. Applications are made online via the Farming Investment Fund service - https://rpagrants.defra.gov.uk/welcome/
FETF218 – Robotic drill and guided hoe
The FarmDroid FD20 stands out as one of the highest scoring items, with a score of 90 out of 100. It is also eligible for the highest Grant amount of £25,000.
“Now is the ideal time to invest in the FarmDroid. Getting the machine partly funded will help future proof your business with reduced labour costs, more accurate weeding and reduced cost of chemicals” Tom Brookes remarks.
FETF44 – Direct Drill
Launched in December 2026 the new HE-VA G-Drill is also available under the FETF Grant. Eligible for 50% funding, based on RRP, the FETF44 category is eligible for a maximum of £15,067.
“For both farmers and contractors alike the G-Drill is a straightforward, cost-effective direct drill.” Says Glenn Bootman.
