The 12-ton capacity 595QF is the fourth mobile and the second OPICO machine that Mr. Horton has owned. The previous OPICO machine had a capacity of 9 tons and he decided to upgrade to cope with the volume of grain.
Lancashire farmer John Gamon admits that the decision to go for a quieter running grain dryer was based on personal reasons. "It was for our own convenience really - we were having a lot of trouble with our previous dryer, every time you walked past the farm it made your ears rattle".
After two seasons' use, during which time Cheshire farmer Edward Horton calculates that he has put 1400 tons through his OPICO 595QF dryer, there is no doubting his regard for the machine.
Matching OPICO Vari Tilth tines and Vari Discs is assisting penetration in hard ground conditions and delivering a number of additional benefits for UK farmers.
Cleveland father and son partnership Peter and Guy Prudom bought a Vari Tilth two years ago.
