Lamma New Products
This year’s Lamma event provides the opportunity for OPICO to launch and display some of the new machinery products imported from Italian manufacturer Maschio. These include two new models of power harrow, three pneumatic drills, a box drill, and popular models from the extensive flail mower range – machinery all newly brought into the UK from Maschio.
OPICO’s MD James Woolway explains: “Taking on the UK distributorship for Maschio has marked a major step forward for OPICO in our goal of becoming a major machinery supplier in the UK. Maschio is one of the top manufacturers in Europe, both with regards to the technology employed in their machinery and the investments made in production facilities and product development. So we are delighted not only to take on the existing Maschio product ranges, but also to be able to launch a variety of new machines which will be of benefit to UK farmers and contractors by improving their work rates and efficiency. Visitors to the OPICO stand will be able to see for themselves the quality and variety of Maschio equipment now available to them.”
To meet the increased demand on personnel and resources, OPICO has already made several new appointments and promotions. David Day, previously a sales territory manager in the east, has taken on the responsibility of Maschio product specialist nationwide and now covers a smaller sales area.
OPICO has expanded its sales and support team – up to seven territory managers and five service support staff - to ensure all Maschio dealers and customers are well-supported with technical back-up and information.
At OPICO’s headquarters in Bourne, the parts department has also been expanded and improved to enable OPICO to service the wider range of products and parts.Mr Woolway concludes: “And there’s more still to come, with further Maschio product launches planned for later in the year at Cereals and Tillage.”
