The Maschio CENTAURO Pneumatic drilling system utilises Maschio’s own “FLEXEED” metering system to accurately deliver seed from a front hopper to a rear folding power harrow mounted coulter bar with a variety configurations.
The QUICK-HITCH system allows fast and easy hook-up to Maschio Power Harrows. The coulter bar is mounted on to the rear roller on the power harrow which ensures the drill follows the contours of the ground and places the seed at a constant depth even on very undulating land.
With the possibility of being coupled with the AQUILA or TORO power harrow the CENTAURO provides a drilling solution designed for the larger farmer or contractor which is suitable for tractors from 180 to 380Hp.

The QUICK-HITCH system allows quick and easy attachment of the Maschio Power Harrow to the seed drill using a 3 point linkage, the drill and power harrow combination can be detached by one operator in approximately 1 – 2 minutes, quickly and safely to use the harrow alone.
The QUICK-HITCH uses a parallelogram system to keep the seeding bar perpendicular to the ground, the whole seeding bar is carried by the roller the coulter depth can be set in relation to the rear roller which is following the ground contours. In this way the coulters stay at a consistent depth ensuring accurate seed placement which in turn gives even plant emergence.
The CENTAURO boasts a large hopper capacity with 1600L as standard.
The design of the hopper guarantees an easy filling due to the oversized width of the top. The cover can also be completely folded back to make loading easier.
Comes as standard with a low level senor and inspection window.
When looking at the design and structure on the CENTAURO Seed Drill there is clearly more than meets the eye.
The weight has been distributed across the tractor in order to reduce stress on the rear linkage, this also allows the CENTAURO to be suitable for medium to large size tractors from 180hp and improves fuel consumption.
The loading platform comes as standard, the step is attached to the front hopper, low enough for the operator to climb with ease and folds up neatly away when working or during transport.
The CENTAURO Seed Drill is controlled by the GENIUS control box, it is fully electronic and allows the operator to complete the calibration quickly and easily.

Designed and patented by Maschio the FLEXEED seed metering unit is as flexible as any metering unit can be, with up to 7 metering roller options suitable for every kind of seed and seed rate. The unit can distribute a large variety of seed sizes with ease, and is capable of achieving very high seedrates.
Construction
The metering unit is constructed from cast aluminium, stainless steel and polyethylene components to prevent rust and corrosion.
Whether seeding OSR or Beans, the FLEXEED metering system will have a roller to suit your seed type. No one seed roller can give you precise accuracy at low seedrates and at the same time meter high seedrates so it is important to choice the correct roller for your application.
The accuracy is down to the size of flutes on the metering roller, large flutes are good at metering at high seedrates but cannot get down to low seedrates, the answer is to have multiple metering rollers and the CENTAURO has three as standard:
G1000 (up to 400kg/Ha)
N500 (up to 200kg/Ha)
F25-125 (for small seed)
Dosing roller G1000 for large quantities of seed (up to 400kg/Ha) (Standard)
Dosing roller N500 for medium quantities (up to 200kg/Ha) (Standard)
Dosing roller F25-125 with small flutes for low rates, especially for small seed types, with the option of disengaging segments. (Standard)
Dosing roller N250 is recommended for low-medium quantities (from 80-100kg/Ha) particularly on drills used in combination (whose operation speed is fairly slow) (Optional)

The fluted segments are all in a helical, staggered pattern for even distribution, this ensures all seed leaving the metering roller does so evenly without pulsing.
Spring loaded feeler clips enhance seedrate precision by controlling the amount of seed in each flute, the feeler clips also prevent damage to delicate or fleshy seed types.
To prevent oily seeds from getting stuck in the fluted segments the FLEXEED unit has a row of stainless steel cleaning clips that makes sure all seed is discharged from the metering roller ensuring consistent, reliable accuracy.
The F25-125 metering roller segments can be disengaged to lower the seedrate further. Within each metering segment there are four pegs that keep each segment moving when the main shaft is turning, simply undo the hand screw on one side of the roller and remove and turn round the desired number of segments, one flute on each segment contains a small clip that will allow the cleaning clip to hold and stop the entire segment from turning as the pegs no longer engage once the segment has been turned around.
Un-loading couldn’t be easier, simply un-lock and open the access panel to the metering unit and remove the metering roller, then you can control the speed of the seed flow by moving the access panel.
The Suffolk coulter is suitable for use in cultivated soil, with very little or no crop residues. Wearing parts can be easily replaced and are made from hard wearing materials. It can be used in a variety of soil types including stony land. Three rows of coulters help with the flow of soil and residues.

Works in crop residues in light and sandy soils.

The stainless steel disc works very well in cultivated, hard compacted soils and heavy crop residues. Dual tungsten scrapers prevent soil build up. Depth is controlled by an adjustable skid or optional rubber depth wheel that improves the seed to soil contact.
Ideal for min-tilled or ploughed soils
Recommended in high residue situations.

Adjustable depth skid: Uses a clever spring and notch system so no tools are required to change the seeding depth, just simply pull and slide to your desired working depth.

The GENIUS Control box sets new standards for drill controls, packed full of features and at the same time very user friendly system.
Easy and fast calibration: Press Drill Priming Button, dispense product into a container, weigh and enter information into the box.
Seed rate adjustable from cab: This can be simply adjusted with the buttons on the control box in stages, allowing the operator to increase or decrease the rate on the move from inside the tractor cab.
Pre-Start and Pre-Stop functions: Allows the drill to be primed before it is engaged into the soil at the start of every run and the Pre-stop function prevents the loss of expensive seed at the headlands.
Pre-emergence Tramline Row Markers: If the drill is fitted with pre-emergence markers the control box will activate them and start lowering them at the start of the tramline run.
Working speed: The readout of the current working/travelling speed is given on the control box.
Partial and total of drilled area (ha): the control box records two separate area or distance of travel readings, the partial can be the field or day and the total could equal to the total drilled in that particular season.
Seeding Alarm: The metering mechanism is monitored by the control box to alert the user of any blockages.
Integrated SD card reader: Allows basic data logging to produce field records. Prints in text or csv format for uploading directly into a spreadsheet or yield map proprietary software packages.
Optional GPS interface for Precision Farming: Connect the GENIUS system to a GPS device and loading a pre-defined seeding plan via SD card for automated variable seed rate application.

Packer Roller - Ø500mm
The toothed Packer Roller works well breaking up any surface clods further and at the same leaving an excellent finish, ready for seeding. This roller also comes standard with tungsten coated scrapers.
Flexible Rubber Roller - Ø500mm
The Rubber Roller is suitable for use when using a power harrow combined with a seed drill in any soil type, it guarantees a constant drilling depth. It comes standard with tungsten coated scrapers.
Rear Roller Bearing
The long life oversized rear roller support consists of a bearing and roller support all in one unit and is manufactured this way so it has the strength to support the weight when the power harrow is used in combination with a seed drill.
The bearing and support has a relatively new greasing system that is situated in a protected section of the roller frame preventing damage from debris.
Tungsten Soil Scrapers
The scrapers are 4mm thick and are tungsten coated as standard, they are attached with a single bolt and giude for quick adjustment.
