NEW HIGH-OUTPUT CULTIVATORS FROM OPICO AT CEREALS 2006 EVENT
New high output cultivation equipment will be launched by OPICO LTD (Stand No. 802) at the Cereals event on June 14/15.
On show for the first time will be the new heavy-duty 2-row Vari-Disc Duo and Vari-Disc Quad cultivators, featuring up-rated hubs and bearings that carry a two-year warranty.
Also on show is the new heavy-duty Vari-Tilth tined cultivator. Equipped with Cat. 3 linkage, the new unit has a stronger frame and heavier tines. This provides deep soil loosening while operating in front of the Vari-Disc Quad which, with its four rows of discs, is designed to cope with heavy soils and high crop residues.
Price of the new Vari-Tilth is £3,375.
NEW STRAW HARROW FROM OPICO AT CEREALS 2006 EVENT
Even the best straw and chaff spreaders on today’s high capacity combines find it a challenge to spread residue far enough, especially in windy conditions, to provide an even coverage. To help resolve this problem, OPICO LTD (Stand No. 802) will launch a new straw harrow at Cereals 2006 on June 14/15.
Designed for use after the combine, the harrow uses the basic contour-following grass harrow frame but with a reduced number of straighter heavy-duty sprung steel 12mm tines. The result is far more even spread of straw and chaff trails that could otherwise cause establishment problems for the following crop by harbouring disease and slugs.
Ideal for Min-Till situations, the straw harrow can also be used as a light cultivator to encourage chitting of weeds and volunteers and to harrow in drilled seeds. Prices range from £6,033 for the hydraulic folding 6m unit to £24,779 for the semi-mounted 18m machine.
We will also be displaying some of our HE-VA cultivation equipment range at the cereals show so please feel free to come along to the OPICO show stand and have look and we'll be happy to answer any question you may have.
"Speak to the Expert" at Cereals 2006 - OPICO have been running Oilseed rape establishment trials with Masstock at their Brotherton Smart farm this year. Phillip Marr Masstock Arable's OSR specialist who has been running those trials will be on the OPICO stand at cereals 2006 to answer any and all of your questions about the Till-Seeding Technique and how it can help your farm save money and improve productivity.
