A new range of trailed stubble cultivators designed for high
output minimum tillage cultivations on tractors from 130hp to
270hp launched at Tillage 2003.
Available in 4m, 5m, 6.3m and 8m widths the Disc-Roller is
manufactured by the Danish Company He-Va. He-Va also manufacture
the OPICO Front
Presses, Rolls
and Front Linkages.
The trailed machine consists of two rows of angled discs and
a pressed steel packer to cut slice and consolidate in one pass.
The
SAT (spring active transfer) system used on OPICO
Rolls ensures that the Disc-Roller
follows the ground contours and puts even pressure on each section.
A unique feature is the way the working depth of the discs
is set. When the operator needs the machine to work deeper,
the tractor hydraulics are used to increase the downward pressure
of the discs. This transfers more weight to the discs and also,
critically, in the same movement the disc angle is made more
aggressive and pulls the discs into the ground.
