NEW FRONT PRESS FOR AGGRESSIVE CULTIVATION AND CONSOLIDATION

Aggressive cultivating and consolidating ability using a toothed packer roller is claimed for the new HE-VA CultiPacker front press now available from OPICO Ltd.

The implement’s 750mm diameter Roller ensures low rolling resistance and therefore a low horsepower requirement, say OPICO. The teeth on the packer help to drive it in soft conditions whilst cracking and fissuring hard clods on heavier land.

In the wet the individually adjustable twin scrapers clean the surface of the roller whilst it turns, keeping the press moving even in poor conditions.

The press is available with ShattaBoards, ShattaBoards fitted with slicing plates or two rows of straight tines to provide additional cultivation and levelling. Overall weight can be varied with water ballast, depending on conditions.

A feature is the front press headstock which acts as an extension to the front of the tractor, pulling the press from the front rather than pushing it. This ensures that the press steers effectively without oscillating.

When the press is lifted for transport or for turning on the headland, a centring system ensures that it does not swing from side to side.

Four versions are available – 1.5m, 3m, 4m and 4m folding – weighing 665, 935, 1180 and 1410kg respectively.
