Continuous wet weather this summer has made reinstatement
work a top priority at Donington Park the well-known grand prix
race circuit.
Contractor Maurice Pamham is convinced
he has found the answer with his new OPICO Turf Comb Harrow.

Mr Pamham's attention was drawn to the machine
when he saw it advertised in the Trade Press, although earlier
he had been impressed by its performance when he saw it in operation
in Austria. "I thought then, this is miles better than a chain
harrow because it really makes a good job and it folds up hydraulically.
I fancied it straight away."
He purchased the machine after having it
on loan for a week. "I didn't want to let it go. We were right
in a very wet period - every weekend seems to have been the
same. We were just reinstating all the time."
"The car parks are badly cut up with tyre
marks and rots everywhere. But the Turf Comb Harrow really does
dry out the ground because it is not smearing over it - it's
a different action altogether. In fact on some of the areas
we treated we were staggered at how quickly the ground recovered."
As well as reinstatement work in the car
parks and rock concert areas, Mr Pamham's 6 metre hydraulic
folding harrow is used for aerating the gravel traps on the
corners -"It does a good job, without pulling the bottom up."
"It's the best machine I've ever used when
you're reinstating ground when it is very wet," he concludes.
"What's more it is useful for more than one job - and we like
that very much."
