Keith Gray is a man who knows what he is
about when it comes to looking after a golf course and being
a Yorkshire man he needs no lessons in good old-fashioned plain
speaking.
Ask him about the OPICO 'Turf Comb'
and the immediate response is, "It's a bloody good
machine."
Keith has for the best part of 30
years been head greenkeeper at Driffield Golf Club at
Sunderlandwick, a village on the outskirts of the town.

It is now some three years since the Club
invested in the OPICO grass harrow following a demonstration
at the Club. "Obviously it pulls the moss out but equally it
lifts the grass up so it can be cut. All in all it does a helluva
good job," said Keith. He went on, "There was a time
when we used a farm harrow on the course but they are a bit
too vicious, then we ended up with nothing. We were always looking
for something to lift the grass up as well as taking out the
moss."
Two years ago the grass harrow was used
on just four fairways but last year, said Keith, it was used
on all of them. "It's a very good machine and so simple to use.
It's just a matter of pulling it behind the tractor and going
at whatever speed you want to."
