Another Scottish farmer delighted with his new OPICO tined
harrow is Graham Burnett who farms 374 acres.
He purchased the 4.5 m mechanical model
after using a demonstrator on three-quarters of his grass acreage
in the spring.
"On the older pasture in particular the
results have been extraordinary with double the usual quantity
of grass and clover. The tines did a great job of ripping out
the moss, opening up the ground, and letting in more air."
"But there's been a marked difference in
all our fields and we find it a quick and easy tool to use.
It also gets rid of the molehills. We've tried the chain harrow
in the past without anything like the same benefits."
Graham, a son of the former Scottish National
Farmers' Union president, Mike Burnett, keeps a herd of 50 beef
cows - mostly Limousin and Hereford crosses - as well as 260
breeding ewes. The farm also grows 150 acres of malting barley.
