Vari Tilth Improves Disc Harrowing
in Hard Abrasive Conditions
Use of the OPICO Vari Tilth
has improved the operating ability of discs on a West Midlands
farm and has significantly reduced the cost of spare parts.
"The land is full of gravel, is abrasive
and the wear and tear on machine parts is horrific," says
Mr Marder.
The major contribution of the Vari Tilth
has been to loosen up the soil in advance of the discs. "Before
the discs simply ran on top of the land," said Mr Marder.
"The Vari Tilth certainly makes it easier for the Vari
Discs to work. The Vari Tilth's tines are deep enough to cope
with compaction. The Vari Tilth has made an enormous difference
and has made the Vari Discs a really useful tool worth having.
I'm very happy with it - it has improved the Vari Discs no end."
Vari Tilth's Versatility and Speed Please
Monmouth Farmer
"As soon as I saw the adverts for
the Vari Tilth in the farming press I knew it would make sense
to use the cultivator in front of the Vari Discs to loosen the
soil," said Stephen Hart.
"For us with limited machinery for
the arable side it dies a multitude of jobs. Today we have to
farm at such a speed and must not miss the opportunity to work
our land when the weather is right so the Vari Tilth fits the
bill. It's quick and reliable."
Vari Tilth and Vari Disc Combination Improve
Productivity at a Realistic Price
"I was intrigued" said Brian
Doble, "It is one of the few examples where you can actually
link on to an existing machine and improve your productivity
for a realistic price."
"The Vari Disc is a fantastic tool.
You have got to have a bit of moisture on the surface for it
to get in and that's where the Vari Tilth helps because it does
let you into the soil in hard conditions."
Penetrating Performance in the West Midlands
"The OPICO Vari Discs are very useful
in their own right but they are ten times better with the Vari
Tilth in front. It makes a really good job," said West
Midlands farmer Richard Fletcher.
"One of the problems with the Vari
Discs is that if you are going directly into stubble - that's
what we use them for - sometimes they have a bit of trouble
penetrating in very dry conditions. The Vari Tilth completely
removes that problem. They are a really good idea. The Vari
Tilth is a good tool and value for money."
